BRAD!BRYAN Multimedia Inc. won a Silver Angel Award for “Why I Don’t Vape” a PSA campaign created for North River Prevention Partners.
“Why I Don’t Vape” is a public service announcement campaign that debuted in February, 2021. The multi-tiered campaign includes a 30-second PSA, a 30-second web commercial, and numerous shorter social videos all centered around prevention of vaping in teenagers. The videos appeared on TV, in cinemas, and online via social media.
In the videos, real-life students from Palmetto High School share their reasons for choosing not to vape. The diverse students who appear and their reasons for not vaping are meant to be relatable to a wide variety of young viewers and to reinforce positive pressure.
The campaign was created to address the issue of vaping by teenagers in partnership with North River Prevention Partners, a nonprofit coalition in northern Manatee County, Florida, dedicated to preventing substance use in youth. Filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the PSAs were conceived in a way to maximize visual impact while prioritizing health and safety.
