SCOPE selected Dr. Barbara Shirley as their 2016 Boundary Crosser, in particular to recognize her achievement as the driving force behind the Eagle Academy. This academy takes a “community school” approach aimed at improving educational outcomes in the mostly low-income and minority students at Alta Vista Elementary, where Dr. Shirley is principal.
For the fourth year in a row, SCOPE tapped Lime Communications and BRAD!BRYAN Multimedia to create a video to highlight tell the Boundary Crosser story. This video was shown at SCOPE’s annual event immediately before Dr. Shirley received her award.
